Optional promotion measurement

Optional source tracking remembers the link or website that brought you here for 90 days. Lothian Bins uses it to measure promotion and may save it with an enquiry, sticker order or postcode report. It is not sent to Facebook. Rejecting does not affect bin reminders.

Only after you accept, the lb_src cookie stores a short source label from the current link’s src or UTM parameters, or the referring website’s hostname. The first source is kept for up to 90 days. Source labels can accompany enquiries, sticker orders and missing-postcode reports to help Lothian Bins understand which promotions bring visitors.

No Facebook Pixel, advertising identifiers or customer matching is enabled by this choice. Facebook counts clicks on its own ads independently of this cookie.

Your choice and withdrawal

Tracking is off until you explicitly accept, in every region. Accept and reject are equally available. Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to change your choice. Rejecting immediately removes the source cookie and stops attaching it to future submissions; opening settings alone does not change your choice.

Your browser stores your decision for up to 180 days, with a random consent reference, decision time and notice version. A local decision history retains the wording and choices shown, including earlier acceptance when you withdraw. These records stay on this browser and are not sent to Facebook. Clearing site data removes them and you will be asked again.

Withdrawal stops future tracking; it does not automatically remove source labels already saved with earlier submissions.

Bin reminders and enquiries

Your chosen address is remembered on this device so you can return to your schedule. Notification subscriptions use your selected address to deliver reminders. These requested functions do not depend on optional source tracking.

Information you submit for a sticker order, adviser enquiry or postcode report is used to handle that request. Forth & Oak handles the sponsored services; an optional mortgage and protection review requires a separate, unticked opt-in. Source-tracking permission does not opt you into contact or a review.
